Overview
One day, the sacred Buddhist relics presented to the Emperor of Tang from the Western Regions mysteriously vanish. The Emperor assigns the case to the upright and dashing Lord Yuan for investigation. No sooner does Lord Yuan receive the task than a young woman named Xi Yan unexpectedly turns herself in, claiming responsibility. However, during the interrogation, Lord Yuan realizes that Xi Yan has little to do with the theft. Instead, her true motive for surrendering is her long-standing admiration for him. This leaves the principled Lord Yuan deeply conflicted—especially as he finds himself increasingly drawn to her. But complicating matters further, he discovers that his closest friend has also been secretly in love with Xi Yan for years.
